4. Profile of Paramus High School
Paramus High School is a comprehensive high school which offers a wide range of course offerings to its students. Advanced Placement courses are offered in from ten to fourteen subjects annually depending on student enrollment. In addition to the traditional college preparatory offerings, the school provides the student with an opportunity to take a major sequence of courses in business and the arts. Students may also attend the Central Technical Education Center, a shared-time, vocationally-oriented facility. Small class sizes and attention to individual student differences are of primary importance in the development of programs at Paramus High School.
As the 1989 recipient of the Secondary School Recognition Program Award, Paramus High School has been recognized as an outstanding secondary school in the state of New Jersey.
Paramus students have been the recipients of numerous regional, state and national awards in academics, music, sports and co-curricular activities.
Over 85% of the faculty have earned at least a Master\'s Degree or its equivalent.
The high school administration consists of Principal Kurt Karcich (ext. 3100), Vice-Principal Lina Gudelis (ext. 3072), Vice Principal Michael Pilacik (ext. 3070), and Vice Principal Lou Natalo (ext. 3120). Miriam Cariglia (ext. 3100) is secretary to the high school principal.
