Meetings, News and Events for Today:

-          Attention Juniors :   if you wish to drive to school and park on school property, you MUST register your vehicle with the school.   Materials and parking stickers can be obtained at the security desk at the main entrance to the high school.   Do NOT delay as vehicles which go un-registered run the risk of being ticketed and towed.  

-          Important announcement for Seniors:   the Paramus Rotary Scholarship applications are now available in Guidance.   The primary selection criteria will be the applicant’s record of service to the community.   Scholarships are available to all seniors pursuing higher education at a college or trade school.   So, don’t delay and obtain an application today.   They are due back to your guidance counselor on February 15 ^th .  

-          More for Seniors:   the February scholarship newsletter is now available in Guidance, on the Guidance webpage and on Naviance.   Make sure that you start applying for scholarships now, before it is too late.   Many deadlines are fast approaching.

-          More for Juniors :   you are reminded to bring your permission slip in for Career Day.   It is to be turned in to room 412 as soon as possible!

-          Attention students in grades 11, 10 and 9 :   are you a leader?   Do you want to develop more leadership skills?   If so, you may want to get information on the National Youth Leadership Forum to be held this summer.   If interested, sign-up on the list in room 412 as soon as possible.  

-          Still another reminder to Juniors :   if you are registered for the early morning pre-HSPA classes, the classes began again last Tuesday morning at 6:50AM and will continue through February.   If you have questions, please see your guidance counselor.  

-          LOST :   a Samsung “Fascinate” phone:   all black with a black case.   The item was lost in the 600 hallway or outside on the school grounds.   If found, please return to room 417.   There is a substantial reward.

-          Attention Juniors:   the PHS Guidance Department is sponsoring a trip to William Patterson University and Montclair State University .   If you would be interested in visiting these two colleges, check your e-mail and Naviance for details.    Students must return permission slips to Ms. Vanderzee NOW.

Future Meetings and Events:

-          Attention all Step-team members :   there will be a MANDATORY Step-team meeting and practice this Monday, February 6 ^th immediately after school in the Dance Studio.   If you have questions or concerns, please see Ms. Ranieri.

-          Special announcement for current Juniors :   course selection for present 11 ^th grade students will begin this coming Tuesday, February 7 ^th .   Appointment times are posted outside the Guidance Office and in the Commons.   All 11 ^th graders should check the day and time of appointment and are asked to please be prompt in keeping that appointment.

Sports for Today:

-          Ice Hockey has a game at the Ice House against Ramapo High School beginning at 9PM.

-          The cheerleading squad will compete in a spirit competition at Paramus Catholic beginning at 6PM.

Sports for Saturday:

-          The Freshmen boys’ wrestlers have a tournament at Bergenfield High School beginning at 9AM.

-          Varsity wrestling has an away match at 10AM against Walkill High School .  

-          The Ice Hockey team has an away game against Northern Valley-Old Tappan High School beginning at 5:10PM.
