Midland School has a rich history in that it was one of Paramus’ first schools. Closed in 1979 due to shrinking enrollment, it was retained by the Board of Education for a variety of uses for twenty years. The school reopened in September 2000, after a major renovation project. In our ninth year, we are proud of our work in developing a fine learning community where students, staff and parents are supported and supportive of one another.
Midland School serves Kindergarten through fourth grade in fifteen classes. Current enrollment is 265 students. In addition to classroom teachers, the instructional staff includes specialists in Art, Library/Media, Music, Physical Education, Speech, Enrichment, English as a Second Language (ESL), Resource Center, and Reading. Our focus is on excellence and expectations, with an unwavering communication to the children that they are capable of achieving success. Our curriculum addresses the NJ Core Curriculum Content Standards; programs are designed to develop academic, social, and emotional growth. Members of our staff are continuously working to improve and expand their skills and knowledge.
